HARARE – Affirmative Action Group founder Philip Chiyangwa has taken a subtle dig at whistleblower Hopewell Chin’ono calling him an ‘unhelpful twitter merchant’.
Chiyangwa, a controversial businessman who has made massive gains through shoddy dealings made the sentiments in a self-recorded video announcing a Bulawayo trip.
“Not withstanding what the African Development Bank may say negatively. Or what the IMF may say negatively or what those naysayers may say negatively.
“We are Zanu PF kids, we support Zanu PF nothing else. We support Emmerson Mnangagwa nothing else,” said Chiyangwa.
“We are coming to Bulawayo. Me, Passion [Java], Mike Chimombe, you know what I mean. We will give you the best education about how to make money.
“Now you see, some will be saying you know what, this and that. No, you don’t eat education of being taught by this one I see going on Twitter every time, waffling nonsense. There is no one who goes on Twitter who will help you to make money, leave them alone.
“Money is found in Zanu PF. Because Zanu PF is the one which grants you the permit to go and extract gold. There is no one else who can do that. There is nothing that someone in the opposition will give you, other than Zanu PF.
“Zanu PF promises and honors that with action. How can you tell me a person who is in the opposition could do anything else.
“You know, all I am saying is, I am very happy we managed to meet and plan our journey for this Bulawayo trip. And expect us in Bulawayo. I said, I am coming with the big team, the real gang and we will tell you about money so that you can make cash,” he said.
The remarks though not specifying a name, were still clear to deduce and identify that Chiyangwa was referring to Chin’ono.
Chin’ono has been on offensive drive to educate the Zimbabwean youths and dissuade them from idol worshipping the so-called rich gang who have made their way up through corrupt dealings.
The campaign by Chin’ono, an award winning journalist, has irked a lot of these ‘tycoons’ including the Zanu PF legislator Chiyangwa, who feel exposed and fear losing their indoctrinated followers.
Chiyangwa who is on an accelerated boot licking campaign to win support from Zanu PF frontman Mnangagwa, is known for being a beneficiary of land parcelled out illegally to bigwigs within the ruling elites.
He has been in and out of court due to cases involving fraud and illegal dealings.
