HARARE – Government has approved churches to start physical gatherings provided that members attending the programs are fully vaccinated.
The development was disclosed by Information and Broadcasting Services minister Monica Mutsvangwa during a post Cabinet press briefing in the capital on Wednesday.
“Cabinet wishes to inform the public that churches can now allow sit-in congregants under the following conditions: Only congregants who have received two doses of the vaccine are allowed to attend.
“All the Ministry of Health and Child Care and WHO protocols are adhered to, and All those found in breach will be arrested, including the leaders of the churches,” she said.
The minister also updated the nation on latest government position on the opening of schools.
Cabinet noted that assessment on the safe reopening of schools in the country is still underway.
