BULAWAYO – Dynamos rose from the ashes like a phoenix with an impressive second-half display that dazzled Chicken Inn to win the match 3-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.
The fading Harare giants had to go for almost eight games to find another victory, but the sight of a beaming and immensely relieved Tonderai Ndiraya was unmistakable after the final whistle.
Ndiraya arrived in Bulawayo under pressure as Dynamos were winless in their last seven games in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
In a 20-minute blitz between the 46th and 66th minute, centre-back Frank Makarati struck from the penalty spot, Junior Makunike slipped in the second with a low shot from long range and substitute Emmanuel Paga found the goal with a nice finish to end Dynamos winless streak.
The win also helped third-placed Dynamos move within two points of Chicken Inn’s total of 41 and eight behind champions FC Platinum.
FC Platinum continued their impressive run by beating visiting ZPC Kariba 1-0 in Mandava, where Walter Musona found the winning goal.
