Harare giants Dynamos warmed up to the big match against CAPS United on Sunday by beating stubborn ZPC Kariba in a Chibuku Super Cup match Thursday.

Dynamos got their important goal through a Colleen Mujuru own goal in the 69th minute of the game.

The goal was well worked out by midfielder Shadreck Nyahwa and exciting youngster Bill Antonio whose shot at goal resulted in the own goal.

ZPC Kariba were the better side both in the first and second half of the game but could not find their way past Dembare.

Katuruturu who are still winless in the group one together with Harare City, Herentals and Yadah Stars, came into the match determined to change the narrative.

They stringed some good passes but the Glamour Boys held their own.

Dynamos seemed to have come into the match with one mind on their next game against old foes CAPS United.

ZPC Kariba coach Godfrey Tamirepi felt his side deserved something for a better performance they put in.

“First of all, I just want to congratulate Dynamos for the victory and I would like to express my displeasure in the way we played this game.

“We lost fair and square but look the playing field was not even, Dynamos actually applied some dirty tactics on my players. They frustrated the guys right, getting onto them, kicking them. It was so frustrating.

“Looking at the goal we scored, it was a floppy goal. It was an own goal and it’s so frustrating and very disappointing after having played very well,” said Godfrey Tamirepi.

His opposite number Tonderai Ndiraya was happy with the victory and promised to build on that confidence going forward.

“Good three points but if you ask me good day in the office, our boys fought for the win. But I think we were not ourselves today. At the end of the day what is important is the three points. I thought we were not fluid, we didn’t play the same way we did when we played Yadah.

“I’m happy about the three points but we need to improve on our performance but look we must give credit to these boys. It’s been difficult for them, physically it has been challenging. I thought we lost a lot of energy when we played Yadah. The intensity was higher there but today we were a bit low,” said Tonderai Ndiraya.
