Dynamos legend George ‘Mastermind’ Shaya has passed on after a long time illness.
He died late Monday at his house in Glen Norah A, Harare according to a source who spoke to RosGwen24.
“The great Mastermind is no more. He has rested after a long battle with illness,” the source close to the development said.
Shaya is the most decorated player to ever grace local football winning the Soccer Star of The Year a record five times.
He played for Dynamos and Zimbabwe national team earning a reputation of terrorising defenders with pace as way as football artistry.
In 2019, he had his leg amputated after battling deep vein thrombosis due to inactivity according to medical experts.
He was 77 years old and is survived by his wife Agnes.
