HARARE – Former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has expressed interest in taking charge of the Zimbabwe national football team.
Zinnbauer is one of the applicants who have already send in their CVs to ZIFA before the opening of the adverts for the substantive stalwart.
Norman Mapeza is the interim gaffer for the next three months in which ZIFA would then flight an advert for the substantive coach.
Mapeza who opted for an initial three month contract, is eligible to contest for substantive post.
ZIFA board member Bryton Malandule who chairs the committee on the recruitment of coaches revealed that they have received numerous applications from foreign gaffers who want to lead the Warriors.
Croatian Zdravko Logarusic was recently sacked as the Warriors coach after a dismal run of only one win in 14 matches.
Logarusic presided over the Warriors during the worst time even though he has been credited with securing Zimbabwe’s ticket to Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) slated for Cameroon.
