Kaizer Chiefs on brink of history

South Africa Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs are just 90 minutes away from a maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League final.

JOHANNESBURG -South Africa Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs are just 90 minutes away from a maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League final.

Chiefs host Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a lead to protect.

The famed Glamour Boys secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg played in Morocco.

They recently confirmed the return of gaffer Stuart Baxter for a second stint, as a successor to sacked Gavin Hunt.

Baxter who won two league titles, the MTN Super Cup and Nedbank Cup during his first stint with Amakhosi will be looking to lift the coveted CAF Champions League title.

In order to fulfil that dream, Chiefs must get past Wydad who have become seasoned campaigners in the Champions League knockout stages.

Interestingly, Baxter accompanied Chiefs to Morocco where they secured a surprise win over their opponents.
