BLANTYRE – The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has expelled Mr. Alex Major from the party with immediate effect for going against the party’s values.
According to a letter of expulsion that we have seen signed by Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka, the party has observed with great concern over the past one year or more Alex Major’s critical views of the party as well as Government’s handling of governance issues.

“Your criticism borders on sowing seeds of disunity within the party but also undermining the Super H5 agenda being championed by His Excellency the State President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera,” read the letter.
It added that the party cannot tolerate any of its members to derail the process of fixing the broken governance systems which the President initiated since ascending to the presidency two years ago.
“Your conduct in short is incompatible with the party’s values enshrined in the four cornerstones of Unity, Loyalty, Obedience and Discipline,” it adds.
