Malema castigates Zondo for the ‘racially’ influenced state capture report

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the Zondo Commission failed in its mandate to investigate the relationship between former president Jacob Zuma and the Guptas.

JOHANNESBURG — Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the Zondo Commission failed in its mandate to investigate the relationship between former president Jacob Zuma and the Guptas.

He said the commission targeted black professionals and those who stood in the way of white people.

Malema addressed his supporters on Sunday at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto, where the party commemorated Freedom Charter Day.

More than 3,000 people gathered in Kliptown 67 years ago to adopt the Freedom Charter and the EFF held their celebration in the same area on Sunday.

Malema criticized the Zondo Commission after the publication of the latest report by Chief Justice and Chairman of the Commission Raymond Zondo on the conquest of the state.

Addressing fanatics of the EFF party, Malema said the state capture report was influenced by race and power.

He said that the country had been conquered years before arriving at democracy.

“There is no government that is going to intimidate us, we want our government back and we want it in dark hands. We want popular government, we don’t want an Oppenheimer government, we don’t want a Ruperts government.”

Malema added that the EFF is the sole replacement for the African National Congress to govern the country in the 2024 national elections.
