MUTARE – Johanisi Nhumwa has been sacked as Manica Diamonds coach and has been replaced by former Triangle coach Jairos Tapera the club announced on Monday.

Nhumwa was on an ultimatum and the defeat to Dynamos on Sunday did not help his cause.

“Meanwhile the club has appointed Jairos Tapera as the new substantive head coach and will be assisted by Tafadzwa Mashiri, Patrick Mandizha and Thembinkosi Sibanda.”

The ambitous Manicaland club also announced that Ticharambana Zikai remains the team manager.

Meanwhile, former FC Platinum striker Donald Ngoma is reportedly close to joining The Gems Boys with reports from Mutare suggesting that a pre-contract will be signed this week.
