MUTARE – Johanisi Nhumwa has been sacked as Manica Diamonds coach and has been replaced by former Triangle coach Jairos Tapera the club announced on Monday.
Nhumwa was on an ultimatum and the defeat to Dynamos on Sunday did not help his cause.
“Manica Diamonds Football Club would like to inform all it’s stakeholders that the club has parted ways with head coach Johanisi Nhumwa and his technical team by mutual agreement,” read part of the statement from The Gems Boys.
“Meanwhile the club has appointed Jairos Tapera as the new substantive head coach and will be assisted by Tafadzwa Mashiri, Patrick Mandizha and Thembinkosi Sibanda.”
The ambitous Manicaland club also announced that Ticharambana Zikai remains the team manager.
Meanwhile, former FC Platinum striker Donald Ngoma is reportedly close to joining The Gems Boys with reports from Mutare suggesting that a pre-contract will be signed this week.
