Former Zimbabwe national netball team coach Lloyd Makunde has been appointed assistant coach of the Namibian national team.
In appointments announced on Friday by the Namibian Netball Association, Makunde an experienced gaffer, will assist head coach Mary Waya together with Antoinette Wentworth.
Makunde’s appointment comes ahead of the Africa World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for next month in South Africa.
Zimbabwe now under Makunde’s former assistant Ropafadzo Mutsauki are also preparing for the qualifiers which runs from 22-29 August.
Makunde was inexplicably fired as Zimbabwe coach in 2019 ahead of the Africa Netball Championship after having taken the Gems to the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.
