HARARE – Zimbabwe songbird Ninja Lipsy, born Tendazvaitwa Chitimbe recently revealed that she has been rejected by people and broke up with chanter Dadza D due to her epileptic medical condition.
Ninja Lipsy who broke into limelight years back after a collaboration with Winky D said she came to terms with her epileptic condition in 2017 which has also hampered her career.
Epilepsy is a chronic disease that causes recurrent unprovoked seizures. A seizure is a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain.
In a radio interview with Owen Ollah Madondo on Star FM, the talented ‘chantress’ Ninja Lipsy said she was even rejected by friends because of her condition.
“The stigma around my condition is harsh and I know people who don’t want to connect with people like me. I have a friend who rejected me when I revealed I had epilepsy.
“I have relationships that broke up because of my condition, even my daughter’s father said something about my condition the day he left me and it hurt me,” said Ninja Lipy.
Lipsy then revealed that Zimdancehall singer Dadza D is the father of her two-year-old daughter, who abandoned her and said hurtful things about her epilepsy.
“Epilepsy is not something that I own yet people label me that I am epileptic, it’s not like I looked for this condition. Fortunately I have gone for months since March without going through a seizure.
“My condition is like any other, people must be taken care of and most importantly treatment must be started earlier when detected,” she said.
