HARARE – National Social Security Authority (NSSA) has named Agnes Masiiwa as the next interim general manager in place of Dr. Charles Shava, who served as general manager for six months till the end of December 2022.
Dr. Shava was chosen to serve as the organization’s interim general manager (GM) for a period of six months while a forensic audit was being conducted.
This came about after the actual general manager, Arthur Manase, was obliged to take a leave of absence in order for enquiries into charges of corruption against him to be conducted.
The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) Board chairman, Dr. Percy Toriro, who announced Ms. Masiiwa’s appointment, said the rotation of the acting general manager is in line with best practises and is necessary to guarantee good succession planning in the organization’s senior leadership.
The appointment of Ms. Masiiwa is effective as of January 1, 2023.
According to Toriro, the mandate of Ms. Masiiwa is to “guarantee that business operations continue without interruption, to provide leadership at all levels of the organization’s mandate execution, and to supervise the completion of the audit process that is already under way.”
