HARARE – Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) has announced the nominees for the PPC ZIMA 22 Awards.
Dancehall sensation Nutty O leads the cast of artists nominated with 6 nominations while Freeman HKD and Roki have 5 nominations.
Gospel diva Janet Manyowa and songbird DJ Zandimazi received 4 nominations.
Sungura star D.T Bio Mudimba got 3 nominations together with AfroPop diva Tamy Moyo whose Bvudzijena album made wave last year.
ZIMA also revealed that awards categories for Retro 1, Retro 2 and Lifetime Achievement have no nominations and will only be announced on the night of awards.
During the entries for nominations, ZIMA explained that the Best International Zimbabwean Artist category considered the following:
“A release of recordings, a touring schedule, music industry recognition by way of award decorations and a prolific media profile, all happening within a specified qualifying period and in territories beyond Zimbabwean borders/ abroad.”
