PRETORIA – Kaitano Tembo has been sacked as coach of South African DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United after a string of poor results.

Sekhukhune United are second from the bottom of the log after 12 matches winning just two, with 5 draws and 5 defeats.

“I wish to thank coach Kaitano for his dedication and hard work whilst at the club,” said Sekhukhune United CEO Jonas Malatji.

“Ever the professional that he is, and with his impeccable work ethic, the decision to part ways was an extremely difficult one. Sport in general and football, in particular, is results driven, and this remains true for the club that finds itself in a very precarious position in the DSTV Premiership.”

Tembo thanked the Chairman and Board for having given him an opportunity at the club.

“I wish to thank the players for their dedication, the support of the Technical Team and Support Staff, and wish the Club and its supporters the very best.”

This was Tembo‘s second job in charge of a South African club after he was sacked at SuperSport United after a lengthy stay, starting with the club’s juniors up to the senior team.
