DStv Premier League side Sekhukhune United have confirmed their initial interest in Baroka FC defender Bonginkosi Makume by officially submitting a transfer offer.
According to an internal source at Sekhukhune, the club have formalized their interest in the 26-year-old defender.
“We made an offer. We are very interested in his signing and hope to reach an agreement with Baroka next weekend to secure a transfer deal,” the club manager revealed.
Makume is wanted at several teams including Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu FC and Richards Bay.
AmaZulu was the first team to show initial interest, but now Babina Noko appears to have rushed to lead the race to sign Makume.
So far this offseason, Sekhukhune United have signed midfielder Linda Mntambo from the Orlando Pirates, while striker Tshegofatsho Mabasa could also be loaned out.
