Zimbabwe youth international Seth Patrick is covering up for lost time during the past year with splendid performances for Scottish Highland League side Brechin City.

Patrick who has been out of action for a year since moving from Germany has been putting in good shifts for Brechin City since making his debut in January against Fort William.

The England bred midfielder said he is thrilled to be back in action after his intended moves after leaving VfB Lübeck in Germany fell through because of some complications.

“I have been out of professional football for a year and my objective is continue playing the minutes here at Brechin City. I feel I’m back and better than ever. The more games I play, the more I’m getting back to my best,” Patrick said.

“After leaving Germany it took me a while to to get back to the game due to Covid-19 complications but it’s all water under the bridge now since am back doing what I know best.”

The 21-year-old Patrick who was nicknamed Boss Kedha when he bossed the midfield for the Zimbabwe U23 against Mozambique in 2019 under Tonderayi Ndiraya said he is looking forward to another national team call up.

“Playing international football for Zimbabwe has always been my wish. I enjoyed my time with the U23 and now I want to have a dance with the Warriors.

“I’m working extra hard to fullfil this dream. I liked it when the fans chanted my name and I want them to do it again. I’m pushing for that through hard work here at Brechin City,” he said.

Patrick is one of the many players of Zimbabwean origin in the Diaspora who were called by then U23 coach Ndiraya for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique in 2019.

He was the most outstanding of the foreign brigade catching the attention of the fans. His team Brechin City are currently fourth on log standings in the Highland League, four points behind log leaders Fraserburgh FC.
