DURBAN – Zimbabwean left-back Divine Lunga has returned to former club Golden Arrows on loan for the new season as DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns upend their foreign quota space.
Arrows announced Tuesday the signing of the highly rated Lunga from Sundowns on loan.
The loan is seen as a big scoop for Arrows as the left-back was a key player for the team during his first stint in 2018 before leaving for Masandawana.
Sundowns who have already reached the maximum number (5) of overseas players they can register will need to release some players to create more slots for new targets.
Sundowns already have Peter Shalulile, Gaston Sirino, Erwin Saavedra, Divine Lunga and Pavol Safranko.
Lunga’s deal with Arrows then frees up a new slot for another foreign player.
The lanky defender landed in Durban on Monday afternoon to join his teammates at Arrows.
