HARARE – Castle Lager Premier League’s 2022 Soccer Star of the Year finalist Divine Mhindirira is reportedly close to signing for giants CAPS United.
The versatile midfielder enjoyed a successful tenure with Highlanders, where he was their top player last season, but is reportedly keen to begin a new life.
The goal of the negotiations between the Green Machine and Mhindirira is to reach an agreement before the 2023 season set for March.
After having a challenging season last year, Makepekepe’s financial situation is rumoured to have improved.
When it comes to the transfer market, CAPS United, who are coached by Lloyd Chitembwe, have been keeping their cards close to their chests.
Mhindirira to join a cast of Chitembwe’s veterans
Chitembwe who is gunning for the 2023 league title has already signed six veteran players, proving that he is not interested in unproven players as usual.
Kelvin Madzongwe, a tireless midfielder who recently left financially troubled Bulawayo Chiefs earlier this week, has been their biggest acquisition.
Along with former Dynamos defender Godknows Murwira, they also recruited set-piece expert Adrian Silla who joined from Bosso.
A midfielder named Innocent Zambezi and defender Admiral Matope, who were previously with WhaWha and Harare City, respectively, round up the team’s recent additions.
