WUHAN – Following their 4-0 victory over Shenzhen FC on Saturday in the Chinese Super League (CSL), Wuhan Three Towns remain at the top of the league.
Brazilian striker Marcos Alves gave Wuhan Three Towns the lead in stoppage time of the first half, and another Brazilian forward Ademilson Junior increased the margin to 2-0 in the 52nd.
Marcos was brought down in the penalty area and scored the ensuing penalty 22 minutes after the team’s second goal. In the 88th minute, Deng Hanwen scored, giving Wuhan three straight victories.
Meanwhile, second-placed Shandong Taishan trounced hapless Wuhan Yangtze River 5-0 to keep log leaders Three Towns on their toes as the league nears completion.
Cryzan Barcelos, a center-forward from Brazil, gave Shandong Taishan the lead in the fifth minute, and Chen Pu doubled the lead after 13 minutes.
A goal by Brazilian player Moises in the 35th minute gave Shandong a bigger advantage, while goals from Abudulamu and Guo Tianyu in the second half gave Shandong the win.
