BANGALORE – Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga has implored Panacea Medical Technologies of India to help Zambia create Centres of Excellence in radio-oncology services across the country by providing state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment.
Mrs. Kapijimpanga said President Edgar Lungu’s administration focused on continuous delivery of quality health services by providing state-of-the-art medical diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, among other measures.
She thanked Panacea for supporting the UTH’s Cancer Disease Hospital in repairing radiotherapy equipment.
The High Commissioner further urged Panacea to consider installing the latest radio-oncology equipment that would serve Zambians and the SADC region.
Mrs. Kapijimpanga said this when she toured Panacea Medical Technologies Pvt Ltd in Bangalore, India, to appreciate the radio-oncology equipment that could provide solutions and contribute to Zambia being a medical tourism hub.
Panacea Medical Technologists’ Managing Director Goteti Subrahmanyam said his company was committed to supporting Centres of Excellencies in radio-oncology services by upgrading the radiotherapy services at Zambia’s Cancer Disease Hospital and creating hubs in other provinces.
He said Panacea would support the training of health personnel involved in the use of radiotherapy equipment. This is contained in a statement issued by First Secretary Press and Tourism at Zambia High Commission in India Bangwe Naviley.
