Zimbabwean long distance runner Isaac Mpofu came 10th at the World Athletics Championships Men’s Marathon in Oregon United States on Sunday.
Mpofu clocked 2 hours 7 minutes and 57 seconds.
With this win, Mpofu also smashed the Zimbabwean record overtaking Cuthbert Nyasango who held the record at 2 hours 9 minutes 52 seconds.
The event was won by Ethiopian long distance runner Tamirat Tola who clocked 2 hours 5 minutes 36 seconds while his compatriot Mosinet Geremew came second with 2 hours 6 minutes 44 seconds.
Belgian marathoner Bashir Abdi was third after posting 2 hours 6 minutes 48 seconds.
