Zim athlete Isaac Mpofu shines in USA

Zimbabwean long distance runner Isaac Mpofu came 10th at the World Athletics Championships Men's Marathon in Oregon United States on Sunday.

Zimbabwean long distance runner Isaac Mpofu came 10th at the World Athletics Championships Men’s Marathon in Oregon United States on Sunday.

Mpofu clocked 2 hours 7 minutes and 57 seconds.

With this win, Mpofu also smashed the Zimbabwean record overtaking Cuthbert Nyasango who held the record at 2 hours 9 minutes 52 seconds.

The event was won by Ethiopian long distance runner Tamirat Tola who clocked 2 hours 5 minutes 36 seconds while his compatriot Mosinet Geremew came second with 2 hours 6 minutes 44 seconds.

Belgian marathoner Bashir Abdi was third after posting 2 hours 6 minutes 48 seconds.
