Nash Paints unveils US$1,1m state of art plant

Paint manufacturer, Nash Paints, commissioned a new $1.1 million state-of-the-art decorative paint manufacturing plant Wednesday in preparation for its recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

HARARE – Paint manufacturer, Nash Paints, commissioned a new $1.1 million state-of-the-art decorative paint manufacturing plant Wednesday in preparation for its recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commissioned on Wednesday at Graniteside, the plant was purchased as a complete unit from Plascom Botswana after ceasing operations in April this year and the installation was completed in July.

The event to commission the plant was graced by a number of popular faces from business sector to socialites who include Takemore Mazuruse of Esteem Communications, Lorraine Guyo, Bee WeZhira among others.

According to Nash Paints, this decorative paints production line increases production capacity by 18,000 liters per day compared to the previous 2,000 liters with the addition of a semi-automatic packaging unit.

Nash Paints chief executive officer, Tinashe Mutarisi, said in a speech that the new plant will improve production capacity and operational efficiency.

Mutarisi said Nash Paints is committed to driving the country’s development and building strong brands while creating jobs for the various communities from which the company operates.

Mutarisi also rewarded long time friend Gulaam Bhati popularly known as Gully with a house worth US$120 000 as a way of honouring him for loyalty to Nash Holdings.
