DUBAI – Zimbabwean long distance athlete Royal Arnold Mabika came second at the Mai Dubai 10km half marathon in Dubai on Friday.
Mabika who is sponsored by Monson Funerals and Crematorium and managed by Michael Monson said the triumph in Dubai is the beginning of more success coming up in his career.
“This the moment I have been waiting for because it was always difficult trying to compete and at the same time without sponsorship. Going forward, I’m looking up to more success,” said Mabika.
“I want to thank Monson Funerals and Crematorium for their sponsorship because it greatly enhanced my success.
“I’m very appreciative of this sponsorship because in the past but without sponsorship it has been difficult especially for us young and upcoming athletes.”
“I’m very proud of myself because this will also inspire some young athletes back home in Zimbabwe. As Royal Mabika I want to say to the other youths out there is that it can be done and it will be done.”
