HARARE – Amidst recent controversy, the Zim Hip Hop Awards has issued a statement addressing the situation surrounding Saintfloew‘s absence from the accolades presented at the recently concluded event.
The organization confirmed that SaintFloew, despite initially being included in the 2023 nominees’ list, requested to be removed from consideration.
In an official statement, the Zim Hip Hop Awards clarified the sequence of events, highlighting that SaintFloew had approached them after the release of the nominees, expressing a desire to withdraw from the list.

The organization emphasized the importance of respecting the wishes and decisions of artists, underscoring their commitment to upholding the integrity of the awards process.
“It’s important to note that despite various versions of the issue circulating, SaintFloew was not involved in the event nor included in the official nominees list,” the statement read.
“Please be advised, after releasing the 2023 nominees, Saintfloew requested to be removed from the nominees list. As a brand, we must respect an artist’s wish or request. There have been many versions of this issue. He was not part of the event or on the nominees list.”
The Zim Hip Hop Awards acknowledged that multiple interpretations of the situation had surfaced but sought to set the record straight by reiterating that Saintfloew’s decision was independent of the awards ceremony.
This clarification aims to dispel any misinformation or confusion surrounding the circumstances of Saintfloew’s non-participation.
The Zim Hip Hop Awards remains committed to maintaining transparency and fairness in its recognition of artists within the vibrant Zimbabwean hip-hop scene.
