JOHANNESBURG – Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed that three members of his squad will be out for the first match of the DStv Premiership 2022/23 season against Royal AM.
Zwane announced during a media open day held at Naturena that Phathutshedzo Nange, Sifiso Hlanti and Sibusiso Mabiliso will miss the first match of the season for various reasons.
“Nange will not be available for the game, Hlanti who’s still not at one hundred per cent as you know he’s coming back from a long lay off and Mabiliso who’s got a thigh problem. I think those are the only players who will not be available” Zwane told media.
Chiefs gaffer praised his team’s determination in training and revealed he is having a headache on who to select for the first eleven.
George Matlou, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Dillon Solomons, Yusuf Maart, Ashley du Preez, Siyethemba Sithebe and Zitha Kwinika are all lined up to make their debuts for The Phefeni Boys.
Amakhosi will open 2022/23 season on Saturday August 6 against Royal AM at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban hoping to put memories of a bad campaign last season behind.
