LUSAKA – 260 Brands, a recipient of the European Union grant, celebrated a significant milestone today with the inauguration of Zambia’s first Plant-Based Milk Factory in Chinika Industrial Area, Lusaka.
This venture showcases the company’s dedication to sustainability, innovation, and prosperity, aligning with 260 Brands‘ core business philosophy of providing nutritious consumer products to Africa while supporting sustainable agriculture through responsible ingredient sourcing.
The European Union’s Enterprise Zambia project has been instrumental in supporting 260 Brands in diversifying its product portfolio and entering the production of organic soya-based products.
One of the key initiatives is the establishment of an out-grower scheme for organic soya beans in collaboration with smallholder farmers.
The project goes beyond production and encompasses training for smallholder farmers in organic soya bean cultivation, the provision of necessary inputs, and the implementation of a robust certification and internal control system.
The official inauguration of the 260 Brands factory represents a significant step in promoting sustainability, innovation, and organic farming practices in Zambia.
As the company continues to expand its product offerings, consumers can expect a wider range of nutritious, high-quality plant-based products.
“260 Brands, taste the good life!” is not just a slogan but a reflection of the company’s commitment to delivering wholesome products while fostering sustainable agricultural practices in Zambia and across Africa.
