NORTON – In a pre-season friendly match that showcased CAPS United‘s dominance, the team triumphed 2-1 against ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League side, MWOS, at Ngoni on Saturday.

Despite the victory, CAPS United demonstrated sportsmanship, focusing more on assessing their strengths than on overwhelming the hosts.

Talented winger Tendai Matindife emerged as a standout player, capturing the spotlight with his stellar performance.

CAPS United secured their goals through Lot Chiwunga and Godknows Murwira, while Tafadzwa George netted the consolation goal for the hosts.

Chiwunga broke the deadlock with a close-range finish, capitalizing on Matindife’s excellent cross.

Murwira extended the lead with a well-executed low free-kick, leaving the opposition goalkeeper helpless due to Ralph Kawondera’s clever dummy.

The victory helped dispel any notion of CAPS United’s decline, with the team showing determination across all departments.

New recruits demonstrated an understanding of coach Lloyd Chitembwe’s tactics, instilling hope among Makepeke fans for a successful season ahead.

Matindife’s performance was particularly enchanting, as he dazzled spectators with his skill and creativity.

His dynamic presence on the field brought excitement to the fans, signaling a potential asset for the team.

However, uncertainty looms over Matindife’s future, as he remains under contract with Dynamos until the end of the season.
