Chideu shines in exciting Ndola Derby

Zesco United and Forest Rangers played to a 1-1 draw in an exciting Ndola Derby in the MTN Super League on Sunday.

NDOLA – Zesco United and Forest Rangers played to a 1-1 draw in an exciting Ndola Derby in the MTN Super League on Sunday.

Thomas ‘Rihanna’ Chideu was the hero for Forest Rangers for the second consecutive game scoring in the 1-1 draw against Zambian champions Zesco United.

Zesco is home to Warriors midfielders Thabani Kamusoko and Tafadzwa Rusike.

Chideu who was on target last week scoring a late equaliser against Indeni FC, thrust Rangers in the lead in the 66th minute before Adrian Chama equalised from the spot kick two minutes later.

Kamusoko started for Zesco United while Rusike was an unused substitute.

In Kitwe Tichaona Chipunza had a goal disallowed as Nkana drew 2-2 against Green Eagles.

The rejuvenated Chipunza was impressive in midfield for Nkana while Warriors right back Gilroy Chimwemwe was enterprising on the right back as usual.

Former Dynamos striker Evans Katema was not in the team for Kelvin Kaindu coached Zanaco’s 1-0 win over Kafue Celtic while former Triangle right back Praise Tonha was missing for Kansanshi Dynamos in their 1-1 draw against Prison Leopards.

Ocean Mushure was on a losing note Saturday as Lusaka Dynamos lost 2-0 to Ali Sadiki’s Kabwe Warriors.
