Clive Augusto has joined Chicken Inn on a two year contract just days after being sacked by CAPS United on charges of inciting other players to sit in before the match against Cranborne Bullets last weekend.
Announcing the return of their top man on Thursday, the Gamecocks said:
“We welcome Augusto to the Gamecocks family. Welcome back home son. He is a Gamecock.”
Augusto was sought after by many clubs including Highlanders, Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars who all came in with firm offers but the striker chose Chicken Inn.
Augusto’s first match for Chicken Inn would be probably next weekend away to CAPS United.
He won the Golden Boot award in 2019 after scoring 14 goals during the first half of the season before leaving for Maritzburg United in South Africa. No player was able to overhaul his tally that season.
