Itumeleng Khune told to leave Kaizer Chiefs for Royal AM

Bafana Bafana former goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has been advised to join Royal AM and not consider retirement despite the difficulties and challenges he faced at Kaizer Chiefs this season.

Khune has only featured once this season – it was MTN8’s opener against Mamelodi Sundowns in August last year – and has only been on the bench twice since.

A former goalkeeper Aime Kitenge has however advised Khune to leave the painful season at Kaizer Chiefs behind and move to Royal AM instead.

“Khune is the right age to be a goalkeeper and I don’t think he’s ready to become a goalkeeping coach.

“Khune can play at least two more years. Gianluigi Buffon is still playing at 44 but Khune is 34 but some people say he has to retire.

“I know Khune very well and he is still the best goalkeeper and all he needs is to play.

“All Khune needs is a chance to play and I would recommend him to move to Royal AM or even AmaZulu. I know he likes Kaizer Chiefs because that’s the only team he plays for. played, but I think Khune should just move to Royal AM,” said Kitenge.

Khune has also been tipped to replace Lee Baxter as goalkeeper coach next season.
