LONDON – Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has offered some valuable advice to his teammates as they aim to clinch the English Premiership football title.
The in-form Gunners have moved eight points clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand, following their 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Jesus, who has just returned from a four-month injury lay-off, insists that this is the most fun part of the whole season and has urged his teammates to stay focused.
“Now is, I think in my opinion, the best part of the season. When you have deciding games, big games as well, away and at home. Now is the time we have to play the same, don’t change, be together and then we will see,” Jesus was quoted by The Standard.
The 25-year-old has won four Premier League titles in five years before his move from Manchester City to Arsenal in a £45m deal last summer.
Jesus acknowledges that to become champions of this big, big competition, they need not only 11 players.
He praised the team’s effort, saying, “When I got injured, we were sure Eddie (Nketiah) could go there and help us — and he did it. (Leandro) Trossard came in and did it as well. So everyone is together.”

Arsenal is finally talking up their chances of landing a first English Premier League crown since 2004 after opening up an eight-point gap at the top.
However, cautious manager Mikel Arteta has constantly tried to play down the soaring Emirates expectations and refuses to even discuss the possibility of becoming champions.
Returning striker Gabriel Jesus cannot wait for the run-in following knee surgery. He said, “I am ready for the best part of the season, the time when you have to play the big deciding games.”
Arsenal will resume their title charge when they face Leeds at the Emirates on April 1. Manchester City will also be in home action that day as they welcome Liverpool to the Etihad.
While City’s commitments in the Champions League and FA Cup mean they could still have as many as 18 more games to play, Arsenal’s Europa League exit leaves them giving their full focus to their 10 remaining English Premiership fixtures.
