SUNDAY (21:30) – Zambia Election Results: Things Fall Apart For Edgar Lungu
FRIDAY (17:10) – UPND Head of Elections Gary Nkombo stops announcement of unverified results by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and he explains the whole situation below:
FRIDAY (11:25) – The ruling party Patriotic Front holds a press conference chaired by secretary general Davies Mwila to update the nation on elections and their displeasure at the unfair process.
FRIDAY (08:30) – It’s a new day after the polls and the mood is tense and electric in most areas. Votes tallied from unverified sources show a big win for Hakainde Hichilema leader of UPND, an opposition party.
21:00 – Voting ends in most polling stations with a massive voter turn-out in most centres. Not much update because internet was shutdown – ouch!
14:40 – Internet closed in Zambia after a government directive. More details will follow later as we try to source information from different sources.
13:20 – UPND President Hakainde Hichilema casts his vote as people cheer and shout “We want change” in an election expected to be so close.
10:15 – Long queues have characterised polling stations in urban centres as Zambians cast their votes.
09:35 – Vice President Inonge Mutukwa Wina casts her vote at Silverest Primary School polling centre in Chongwe District, Lusaka, Zambia.

06:30 – President Edgar Lungu casts his vote at Crawford School in Chawama. He was accompanied by wife Esther Lungu who also cast her vote in that area.
