HARARE – Famous opposition supporter, Madzibaba veShanduko (real name, Godfrey Chidhau) has been arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police today corner Julius Nyerere and Nelson Mandela road.
Reasons for the arrest of the popular CCC supporter who hail from Guruve have not been stated yet.
Chidhau is popular for attending all rallies presided over by Nelson Chamisa.
He was in Harare East yesterday where CCC Vice President Tendai Biti was addressing a rally.
“Madzibaba VeShanduko (Godfrey Karembera) is at Harare Central Police Station. Our lawyers @ZLHRLawyers report that he has been viciously assaulted.
“The impunity & recklessness of regime is beyond reason. Why did they call for By Elections when they don’t respect democracy,” Biti tweeted.
Zanu PF through state apparatus has been harassing opposition supporters while banning CCC rallies as it frets over its waning popularity.
