Malawi govt throws support for Bushiri’s Goshen City project

Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Usi has pledged government's support towards the Goshen City Project which Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is constructing in Monkey Bay, Mangochi.

BLANTYRE – Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Usi has pledged government’s support towards the Goshen City Project which Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is constructing in Monkey Bay, Mangochi.

Writing on his official Facebook page, the minister said he visited the construction site to appreciate how the project, which has created 4000 jobs already, is progressing and to assure Prophet Bushiri that President Lazarus Chakwera fully supports the project.

“Once completed, Goshen City will be one of the greatest tourism sites [in] this part of Africa,” he wrote.

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri commented on the post saying it has always been his desire to invest in the country.

He said: “I thank God for this new government policy that supports development like no other. We will support the President’s Agenda 2063 on secondary cities.”

Goshen City is a futuristic, commercial, tourist Smart City located in Malawi with administratively defined boundaries whose members will work primarily on both agricultural and non-agricultural tasks.

The city will generally have extensive systems for medical facilities, education facilities, housing, transportation, Sanitation, utilities, land use, production of goods, and communication.

It will be a sum of what makes Africa and the west unique.

During the official unveiling of the City, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri said through the vision of His Excellency President Dr Lazarus Chakwera of creating secondary cities across the country, he has taken it seriously.

“To show my resolve in supporting the President’s vision, I presented the project to Malawi government and I am so honoured with the warm and friendly reception that I recieved,” Prophet Bushiri said.

He provided a message to the world that Malawi is open for investment but it must start with ourselves as Malawians as he urged people to join hands in making this country a better place through the vision of the President.
