BLANTYRE – The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM), has clarified information that the Queens left behind kit meant to be used during the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth games scheduled for 28th July to 8th August, 2022.
According to a statement released by NAM through General Secretary, Isaac Chimwala, the association engaged two suppliers, Gilbert, a United Kingdom supplier from an agreement the association has with Gilbert and a local supplier from a FDH Bank funding, the official sponsor of the Queens.
“Furthermore, the Association was over a month ago offered as a donation, two sets of uniforms by Into Sport, a local supplier of sports products and delivery of the uniforms from both Gilbert (UK) and local supplier who has sourced the uniform from China was expected in the UK in the run up to the games,” Chimwala said.
However, he said delivery from China has not yet been done as they still expect to receive the uniforms in due course.
“As a way of mitigating the risk of having not received the uniforms in time for the first game, the Association has sent the uniform donated to the Queens by Into Sport to the UK,” he said.
NAM has assured Malawians that the Queens will have everything ready for the first game on Saturday, the 30th July, 2022.
