JOHANNESBURG – DStv Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns went 17 points clear at the top with 10 games to go after beating Chippa United 2-0 on Monday night.

Masandawana got their first goal on the stroke of halftime from Andile Jali who connected a flick by the magical Surprise Ralani.

Teboho Mokoena sealed the day for Sundowns three minutes from time to make it 2-0.

The win has all but given Sundowns an assailable lead going into the last 10 fixtures of the season and will see Sundowns being crowned champions for the fifth time in a row.

The defeat saw Chippa United sink deeper into relegation zone.

Zimbabwean stars Ronald Pfumbidzai for Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Devine Lunga were unused substitutes.
