MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin weighed in on the upcoming US presidential election, describing Democratic incumbent Joe Biden as “more predictable” than his predecessor, Donald Trump.
Putin’s comments came during a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday, where he expressed the Kremlin’s readiness to work with whoever emerges victorious in November’s election.
When asked about Russia’s preference between Biden and Trump, Putin remarked, “Biden, he’s more experienced. He’s predictable, he’s an old-school politician.”
Despite questions about Biden’s age and health—given that he would turn 82 shortly after the election—Put;in dismissed concerns, citing his previous interactions with the US president.
“I saw nothing of the sort,” the Kremlin’s chief said, referring to his meeting with Biden three years ago in Geneva.
While acknowledging the age issue surrounding both candidates, Putin’s focus remained on Biden’s perceived predictability.
However, Put_in expressed strong opposition to Washington’s foreign policy under Biden, characterizing it as “extremely harmful and wrong.”

The Biden administration has been at the forefront of Western efforts to support Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
The remarks by the Russian supremo come amid ongoing tensions between Russia and the US, with both countries engaged in strategic competition across various geopolitical fronts.
Despite Trump’s previous expressions of admiration for Putin, the Russian president’s stated preference for Biden reflects his perception of the former vice president as a more predictable and manageable counterpart.
Trump, responding to Putin’s comments, interpreted them as a compliment during a rally in South Carolina.
“I got along good with him, but he doesn’t want to have me, he wants Biden,” Trump remarked, suggesting that Putin favored Biden over him in the upcoming election.
As the US presidential race intensifies, Putin’s assessment adds another layer to the complex dynamics shaping international relations, highlighting the significance of leadership transitions in influencing global geopolitics.
