JOHANNESBURG – South African hip-hop artist Tumi Tladi has been confirmed dead at the age of 30 though the cause of death has not been revealed.
According to the family, Tladi died in Johannesburg in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The family of South African hip-hop artist Itumeleng George Tladi confirmed his untimely death today [Sunday] with profound sadness and loss,” the family statement read.
“Tumi was deeply loved by his family, friends and the entire entertainment industry. The Tladi family humbly request privacy during their time of mourning and ask that they be kept in your prayers.”

Tladi is best known for his hit song Basadi, which featured Moozlie and Rouge in the remix.
The rapper recently released a song and music video featuring Nadia Nakai and Mustbedubz titled Presidential.
Tladi is survived by his parents, five siblings, a niece and a nephew, according to the family statement.
Funeral details will be confirmed later this week.
