BEIJING (Xinhua) — Communist Party of China (CPC) General Secretary Xi Jinping on Monday emphasised the need of never-ending efforts to advance strict and comprehensive Party self-governance and guarantee the execution of decisions and programmes announced at the 20th CPC National Congress.
Speaking during the second plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Xi, who is also China’s president and head of the Central Military Commission, made the comments (CCDI).
Full and strict Party self-government should be the Party’s long-term policy and continual priority, according to Xi, in the interests of the Party’s long-term governance, the nation’s permanent prosperity and stability, and the happiness of the people.
He emphasised that the Party should continue to embrace tight principles, implement stringent policies, and establish a strict environment for its self-governance, and that the Party’s self-reform should be vigorously pursued.
In addition to advancing tight self-governance, he said that efforts should be made to foster excitement, initiative, and creativity among Party members and officials.
Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, and Ding Xuexiang were present as members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
The meeting was presided over by Li Xi, secretary of the CCDI and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
According to Xi, the Communist Party must successfully govern itself in order to properly rule the country since the nation can only grow strong if the Party remains strong.
Full and rigorous self-governance, according to Xi, is a never-ending undertaking, and the Party must remain vigilant and resolute to meet the unique obstacles that a big political party like it must overcome.
He emphasised the significance of maintaining and improving the systems for exercising complete and strict self-governance inside the Party.
To guarantee that the choices and goals agreed at the 20th CPC National Congress are effectively carried out, Xi ordered strict political control.
