Zanu PF apologist admits Mnangagwa is losing support

HARARE - A former Zimbabwe deputy minister Energy Mutodi has criticized Zanu PF for continuing to sideline young people.

HARARE – A former Zimbabwe deputy minister Energy Mutodi has criticized Zanu PF for continuing to sideline young people.

Mutodi expressed his displeasure on the microblogging platform, Twitter where he admitted alternative party leader Nelson Chamisa popularity over former boss Emmerson Mnangagwa.

‘’Nelson Chamisa is gaining popularity because the Zanu PF old guard is fighting its own young men and women.

“My passionate plea is for Zanu PF to embrace its young people, take in new ideas, and remain in power beyond 2023,’’ wrote Energy Mutodi on twitter.

Zimbabwe has been experiencing a sudden shift in the political field with hardline Zanu PF apologists crossing the divide to join Citizens Coalition for Change fronted by Chamisa.

Mutodi is the latest among those close to Mnangagwa to praise Chamisa together with former Chivi lawmaker Killer Zivhu and Norton independent legislator Temba Mliswa.

Mnangagwa’s support base has been waning due to incessant corruption and unfulfilled promises under his leadership.
