Zimbabwean actress Anne Nhira has been confirmed dead in South Africa, days after being a victim of a robbery incident in that country.

The former Studio 263 actress who starred in the soap opera as Vimbai Jari died from the injuries sustained during a robbery this week.

Her brother Juan Nhira confirmed the news.

“She sustained injuries on her chest area, rib cage and back during a robbery on Monday afternoon in Bedford view South Africa. She was only 38 years of age,” he said.

She was 38 years old. Nhira once stirred controversy in 2017 after seemingly getting popular South Africa raunchy dancer Zodwa Wabantu banned from performing at the Harare International Carnival (HIC).

“I’m ecstatic that the Zimbabwean government has responded quickly to my letter of objection about Zodwa Wabantu coming to Zimbabwe. She’ll no longer be attending the Zimbabwe National Tourism Carnival event.

“The Zimbabwean Government has made the decision and I’m happy with their decision as stated in the letter from the Acting Minister of Tourism – Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, Honourable Patrick Zhuwao after receiving my letter of concern together with Ministry of Women Affairs and Ministry of Rural Development,” said Nhira at that time.
