HARARE – The Northern Region Soccer League Axis Super 8 Cup final between Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles will be spiced up with a musical concert as the organisers wants to have big numbers for season curtain downer.

Baba Harare, DJ Fantan and Sulumani Chimbetu will entertain the crowds at Rufaro stadium on Saturday 22 October as the league champions Simba Bhora take on Golden Eagles who finished third in the league.

Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) secretary general Sweeney Mushonga said they decided to bring in the musicians to make the final a memorable one.

“After a long season which was hard to predict who was going to win, you would need to close it on a high with the same intensity and excitement that we witnessed during the course of the campaign. So we wanted huge crowds to make it a carnival atmosphere,” Mushonga said.

“We chose Rufaro stadium because of its historical significance to local football and also because of its accessibility. These two teams pulled huge crowds when they met in the league at Ellis Robbins and we are anticipating an even bigger crowd than when they met in August.

“I also want to thank the Allied Insurance Company, Dairibord Zimbabwe, BMG Consultants and Black Shark Protection Services for bringing the artists who are going to perform,” he added.

There will be individual prizes with the Player of the Tournament getting US$500 while Goalkeeper of the Tournament will pocket US$300 and Coach of the Tournament will receive US$400.

Axis Solutions Marketing and Customer Care Officer Kesiya Chitete said there are giveaways for some lucky fans as they want to give back to the community by checking on their health and well being using the Axis Solutions Health ATM.

“We are going to have our Health ATM do tests for various ailments like blood pressure, BMI, fat and diabetes to mention a few because as Axis Solutions we value the health of our communities,” Chitete said.

“This was our first season in football with the Northern Region Soccer League and we want to cap it with a memorable final. There are lots of surprise giveaways to the fans on the day but top of that is our health services to the people. So I urge people to come in their numbers because there is more that they are going to gain from Axis Solutions.”
