High flying FC Platinum target Dynamos scalp

Castle Premier Soccer League log leaders and defending champions FC Platinum are expecting an uphill battle when they face 'struggling' Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

HARARE – Castle Premier Soccer League log leaders and defending champions FC Platinum are expecting an uphill battle when they face ‘struggling’ Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It is undoubtedly a battle of wits, with both coaches Norman Mapeza and Tonderai Ndiraya known as modern-day tacticians.

FC Platinum will enter the fray after a seven-game winning streak without conceding a goal.

In contrast, fading giants Dynamos seem to have lost their way after three games without a win.

However, Mapeza doesn’t interpret much of Dynamos’ troubles, saying an injured lion is the most dangerous animal.

“We prepared for this game and worked hard on it since we knew where Dynamos are at the moment.

“They are injured and will go for maximum points, but it’s a game of football after 90 minutes, we need a win,” Mapeza said.

FC Platinum will welcome back injured utility player Blessing Moyo but will be without the services of veteran defender Gift Bello, captain Petros Mhari, Hagiazo Magaya and William Stima due to injury.
