BULAWAYO – Mandla ‘Lulu’ Mpofu has been sacked as Highlanders coach after the executive capitulated to pressure from the fans over the club’s position in the league.
Highlanders are on 13th position in the league with just three wins in 13 games and Mpofu has been living on borrowed time as fans called for his ouster.
Mpofu was sacked along with his assistant Bekithemba Ndlovu and manager Vezigama Dlodlo but Joel Luphahla who was recently appointed as one of the assistants has been spared and will take of the team on interim basis until a substantive coach is announced.
Sources however say Luphahla is primed to take over as the substantive coach.
