HARARE – Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Zengeza West lawmaker Job Sikhala has been denied bail for the 6th time.
Magistrate Taurai Manuwere said Wednesday that there are no changed circumstances warranting Sikhala’s release on bail.
Manuwere also said he can not be swayed by public perceptions, referring to a petition signed by citizens in September demanding the unconditional release of the opposition lawmaker.
Sikhala was seeking bail on a charge of obstructing the course of justice over the 14 June Nyatsime violence.
He was represented by human rights lawyer, Jeremiah Bhamu, who is instructed by the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum and the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
