Threads, Meta’s recently launched competitor to Twitter, also experienced outages, although WhatsApp, Meta’s messaging service, appeared to be unaffected.

Facebook’s status page for advertisers indicated “major disruptions,” with engineering teams actively working to resolve the issue swiftly.

Users attempting to access Facebook encountered login difficulties despite entering the correct password, while Instagram users on mobile devices found their feeds failing to refresh.

Facebook stands as the world’s largest social media platform, boasting three billion active monthly users, while Instagram has approximately 1.35 billion users, according to the latest available data.

The outage underscores the platform’s dependency on digital infrastructure and the challenges posed by disruptions, especially for users reliant on these platforms for communication, social interaction, and business purposes.

Meta’s investigation into the outages aims to swiftly restore normalcy to its services, ensuring users can resume their online activities without interruption.
