Ramaphosa retains ANC presidency after defeating Mkhize

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa defeated former Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Monday at the ANC's 55th National Conference held at Nasrec in Johannesburg.

JOHANNESBURG – ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa defeated former Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Monday at the ANC‘s 55th National Conference held at Nasrec in Johannesburg.

Ramaphosa received 2 476 votes compared to Mkhize’s 1 897, according to the results announced by Kgalema Motlanthe, head of the party’s electoral committee.

Results of voting for the Top Seven leadership of the party were also announced by the ANC Electoral Commission.
