HARARE – Music promoter Patson Chimbodza popularly known as Chipaz has said popular Dancehall artist Winky D is snubbing his shows despite offering him double pay for his services.
Chipaz who fronts the Chipaz Promotions music stable made the revelations during a StarFM interview with DJ Ollah 7 while responding to allegations of sabotaging certain artists.
Chipaz said Winky D has silently declined to be part of all his recent events despite efforts to book him on time and even doubling the payment for the bookings.
“We have tried as Chipaz Promotion to reach out to Winky D management for my events, not once, not twice, not thrice but so many times,” said Chimbodza.
Chipaz said if there is any bad blood between the two parties, he is willing to apologize and let professionalism take its course.
”If we have anything that we did as a brand Chipaz Promotion to Winky D, i am not much aware of anything, but if there is anything we have done as a brand surely we should apologise to him but as of now I do no anything,” he said.
The renowned music promoter also said he is looking for book dates of Winky D and Jah Prayzah who have become hard to secure for a show.
However, Chipaz acknowledged that it might be because the two artists are now big in the music industry and always booked for other shows.
