Zanu PF unleashes terror on Chamisa in Mash East

MARONDERA – The convoy of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa was reportedly attacked by suspected Zanu PF supporters in Mashonaland East province on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the convoy belonging to Chamisa was attacked while making a surprise visit to Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe (UMP), a traditionally well-known stronghold of Zanu PF.

The ruling party has always garnered thousands of votes in UMP during elections albeit in controversial circumstances marred by allegations of vote buying and intimidation.

CCC members were allegedly attacked at Nhakiwa Growth Point for entertaining Chamisa, who visited political hotspots such as Chitsungo, Mutawatawa and Mazowe Bridge, where he held meetings.

Chamisa’s convoy was also attacked by suspected Zanu PF supporters in Hwedza district on Wednesday, CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba said.

“Zanu is petrified by our program and subsequently unleashed terror throughout the Hwedza region. Violence erupted and resulted in the kidnapping of one of our members, Tonderai Bhuka. We have called the police and are in the process of locating him,” he said.
